Stamp of His Honour…As Unique Motors Boss, Prince Adesina Adebiyi Set to Become Agba Akin Majeobaje of Ibadanland

Published

on

Things just keep getting better and better for Unique Motors boss, Prince Adesina Adebiyi. The latest gist on social media is that the man from Ondo State who grew up in Ibadan has won the hearts of the people of Ibadan, and is preparing to join the lords of the ancient kingdom as Agba Akin Majeobaje.

As clients and admirers of Unique Motors are doubtless aware, Saturday, March 6th, 2020, is the coronation ceremony of the company’s amiable Chairman, Prince (Dr.) Adesina Adebiyi. As the honour has spilled over to his mum, the month of March is one of the double celebrations for the Adebiyis.

In the old days, titles and positions like the Agba Akin Majeobaje come after a great showing. Coronation ceremonies, to this effect, go on for weeks. In short, a man climbing into this status is treated to the best of things, and he plays the generous host for the rest of his life. Thankfully, this part of the bargain is not strange for Prince Adebiyi.

It would appear that there is some agenda in the heavens to show off the celebrant.

Recall that 2020 was just as adventurous for him. First was the recognition from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in September “In lieu of [his] great works in business and entrepreneurship contributions to the development and empowerment of young people.” After that experience, Prince Adesina Adebiyi became Ambassador Adesina Adebiyi—the ECOWAS Youth Ambassador of Peace.

Then, the prestigious European-American University (EAU) offered him the honorary title of a Ph.D. holder. And then Ambassador Adesina Adebiyi became Dr. Adesina Adebiyi.

What is the appellation for the Agba Akin Majeobaje rank?

So, as Unique Motors is winning new and deeper-pocketed clients, and the place of his birth has offered him the prestige of nobility, Prince Adesina Adebiyi is on an obvious roll. If these are not the best of times for him when is?

Speaking at the 2024 Felaberation Festival in Lagos, Femi specifically mentioned former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the late businessman MKO Abiola as significant enemies of the Kuti family.

He acknowledged his father and grandmother as prominent Pan-Africanists, further emphasizing that his family was raised without tribalistic tendencies, drawing inspiration from Pan-Africanism.

Addressing the crowd, Femi stated, “Brothers and sisters, something very important is going on in our lives; ethnic problems. You call it tribalism. Please, do not bring the Anikulapos in your stupidity.”

He continued by saying, “We grew up with Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Marcus Garvey, Patrice Lumumba, Mrs Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, and Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

“Pan-Africanism was the order of the day. So, I didn’t grow up being sentimental. I saw good people, bad people. I’ve got great European friends, I’ve got terrible European friends. I’ve got great African friends, I’ve got terrible African friends.

“One of our [the Kuti family’s] greatest enemies as you know are Yoruba people; Obasanjo or Abiola. We are not tribalistic in our family.”

“These two are people we grew up watching. They inspired the generation we watch now, and they still maintained their stand in the industry. They deserve to be celebrated, and that’s why we have chosen them as this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award winners.

The 2024 edition of the BON Awards is billed to hold at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, the state’s latest hub for filmmakers.

Oloketuyi had earlier expressed excitement about Kwara’s role as host, promising a fulfilling experience for the expected 500 Nollywood stars attending.
