SHOCKER: Saraki Loses Senate Seat As APC Sweeps Kwara

The President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has lost his return bid to the Red Chamber.

Saraki, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Kwara Central Senatorial District, lost to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Ibrahim Oloriegbe.

Saraki, who is the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, scored 68,994 votes, while Oloriegbe polled 123,808 votes.

Oloriegbe had led in earlier results.

In Asa Local Government Area, Saraki scored 11,252 votes, while Oloriegbe polled 15,932 votes.

For Ilorin East Local Government Area, the PDP candidate polled 14,654 votes, with Oloriegbe coasting home with 30,014.

In Ilorin South Local Government Area, Oloriegbe scored 26,331 votes to Saraki’s 13,013 votes.

The tally showed the APC candidate has scored a total of 72,277 votes, while Saraki has 38,919.
