Vice-President Kashim Shettima and Abdullahi Ganduje, national head of the All Progressives Congress (APC), are attempting to reconcile Imo Governor Hope Uzodinma and former Senator Rochas Okorocha.
The two have been at odds over Imo politics for some time now.
In 2021, Uzodinma obtained a court injunction to seal Okorocha’s property.
Okorocha attempted to open one of the properties but was apprehended. The following day, he was given bail.
In the run-up to the 2019 election in the state, Okorocha chose his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, for the APC governorship ticket over Uzodinma.
The result was two governorship candidates on the APC platform.
The party would go on to recognize Uzodinma as the authentic flagbearer, under the leadership of Adams Oshiomhole, the then-national chair of the party.
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday night, APC said it is now a united front.
The post had pictures of the four men high-fiving and wearing broad smiles.
“Vice President Kashim Shettima, our National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, and Senator Rochas Okorocha Parley,” the party posted.
“Ahead of the Imo state governorship election, APC is a united and strong house.”
The Imo governorship election holds on November 11.
