A pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Jude Obaro Orohwosa, is in trouble waters after a land deal he was involved in went awry, OrijoReporter writes.
The supposed man-of-God pastored a parish of Redeemed Church, Morning Star Parish, located at 13, Adebayo Mokuolu street, Anthony village.
And before now, he was an aide of former Delta State Governor, James Ibori, and was said to have had his hands soiled with alleged financial fraud then.
Sources said Pastor Jude Obaro Orohwosa had claimed to represent RCCG headquarters in the purchase of a land located at Central Business District, Ikeja, by a parish of the church, Mega Church Parish, and surreptitiously made N50m from the land deal.
Having secretly cut a deal with the land seller to jack up the selling price , Pastor Orohwosa was said to have made N50m from the deal.
“The land was bought at N450m by the church, and N50m was paid into Pastor Orohwosa’s wife’s account after much persuasion.
“He insisted on being paid N100m, and asked that Mega Church Parish must not get to know,” OrijoReporter was told.
But trouble started for Pastor Orohwosa when the said land was revoked, and the church had to be refunded.
It was gathered that his failure to return the N50m landed him in EFCC detention in Ikoyi, and he is currently under interrogation.
