Ibrahim ‘Primeboy’ Owodunni, a childhood friend of the late singer Mohbad, has initiated a lawsuit against Abosede Aloba, Mohbad’s mother, accusing her of defamation.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried the next day. His body was later exhumed by police for an autopsy on September 21, 2023. In October 2024, Primeboy accused Abosede of making false claims that he had an argument with her son before his death.
Primeboy shared a letter on Instagram, in which he described her statement as “libelous, injurious and malicious.” He is seeking N50 million in exemplary damages.
The letter states, “The sum of N50,000,000.00 (Fifty Million Naira only) being exemplary damages for libelous, injurious, falsehood and malicious statement made of and concerning the Claimant by the Defendant in a video interview made on the 28th of March, 2024 and published in several news media and online news outlets, designed to defame the Claimant.
Abosede has been given 42 days to respond, or the case will continue in her absence.
In March 2024, Primeboy also filed a petition against Omowunmi, Mohbad’s wife, regarding “false allegations.”
