President Tinubu Appoints Ajuri Ngelale, Buhari’s Former Aide, As Special Adviser On Media And Publicity

Ajuri Ngelale, a former aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, has been appointed as the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity by President Bola Tinubu.

The announcement was made by Willie Bassey, the Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), through a statement on Monday.

Ngelale’s appointment is effective immediately.

Previously, Ngelale had served as the Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Buhari.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of chief Ajuri Ngelale as special adviser to the president on media and publicity,” the statement reads.

“The appointment takes effect from 31st July 2023 and would terminate at the end of this administration unless otherwise decided by the president.”

Bassey added that the president urged Ngelale to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the new assignment.

Meanwhile, Ngelale, in a post on his official Twitter handle, said he is humbled and honoured by the appointment.

“I am most humbled and honoured by H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recognition of the need for more hard work ahead as I have been appointed as his official spokesperson & special adviser to the president on media & publicity,” Ngelale said.

“I will give 🇳🇬 my best as always. I love you all.”
