Controversial Nollywood actor cum film maker, Yomi Fabiyi has been decorated with Human Rights Ambassador by the Constitutional Rights Awareness & Liberty Initiative (An Affliate of the United State of America Embassy, Lagos).

In his acceptance speech exclusively obtained by PorscheClassy Media, the talented and human thespian thanks his fans, the media, well wishers and followers for the opportunity. Find below his full acceptance speech;

It is with high sense of responsibility and humility I gladly accept the decoration as HUMAN RIGHTS AMBASSADOR by Constitutional Rights Awareness & Liberty Initiative (An Affliate of the United State of America Embassy, Lagos) today 24th April, 2018 at the US Embassy, Lagos.

I wish to use this medium to thank His Excellency, The Consul-General, US Embassy, Mr John Bray, The Head of Public Affairs, Dazzy Zotter, members of staff of the US Embassy for the honour, hospitality and support given today.

In addition, I thank Barrister Adeola Oyinade, his entire hardworking team of CRALI, Nigerian Media, Bloggers, my colleagues, friends, family and of course MY FOLLOWERS and FANS. Without the fans and followers I am incomplete.

I am of the opinion Nigeria cannot be regarded as a truly democratic and free society if the fundamental human rights of her citizens are blatantly and grossly abused by individuals and goverment institutions. We need not to be accountable only but be very responsible to the fundamental human rights.

It is time we look at FEAR and CONSPIRACY OF SILENCE in the FACE and let them know enough is enough. Like me or not, I like you or not, I owe the duty to speak when anyone abuse the right of another. A hurt to an eye is a hurt to all other parts. I enjoin you to please imbibe the same.

Moreso, I am sending my congratulations and best wishes to the two other recipients, madam Obi Ezekweseli(Former Minister and a Nationalist) and Simisola Ogunleye (@symplysimi). I care so much about the fans and thanks a lot for always standing by me. I dedicate this to the memory of my Late Mother, Adijatu Folawe Fabiyi who passed on few months ago. You know I love you mum and continue to Rest Well”.
