Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, says Nigeria needs hard work and consistent prayers to “fully achieve its potential”.
Speaking with journalists in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday when he performed Umrah, Tinubu said every Nigerian must be involved if the nation must achieve its full potential.
“The prospect of the country is yet to blossom to the level that we require,” the president said.
“It needs hard work and consistent prayers by each and every one of us. We are committed to using our strength to bring out this potential for the benefit of all Nigerians.
‘’That’s why we are here (Makkah) and May Allah accept all our prayers, individually and collectively, for the good of the nation and its people. There is a need for me to thank God for what He has done for me.
‘’For his guidance, blessings and answers to my prayers and the country’s prayers and the good of all humanity. I have to give thanks to God at every opportunity.”
Tinubu departed Nigeria for the Middle East country on Thursday to attend the Saudi-Africa summit.
On Saturday when he met with captains of industry in Saudi Arabia, Tinubu said Nigeria “will not disappoint” them if they invest in the country.
“I believe in the full application of free market economics. Your money will flow easily in and easily out. The arbitrage around our nation’s old foreign exchange policy regime and the corruption that was associated with it is also gone,” Tinubu said.
