The Lagos State House of Assembly has called on the executive governor of Lagos State, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to immortalise late Deji Tinubu for his contributions to sports in the State.
Speaker of the House Mudashiru Obasa gave the advise on Monday, describing the late Tinubu’s death as shocking.
We also appeal to the governor to immortalise him in the area of sport within our facilities in Lagos State,” Obasa said on the floor of the House.
He also sent a condolence letter to the family of the deceased.
Deji Tinubu died on Thursday after he slumped in a football match in Epe Lagos.
The deceased also served as Ambode’s Special Adviser on Sports and Chairman of the State’s Sports Commission.
He later became the Special Adviser to Ambode on Commerce and Industry in a cabinet reshuffle two weeks before his death.
