LADIES READ: Dear Woman, It Is A Lie — Florence Ozor

Husbands
Every woman should have a husband like Bill Clinton.
I do know about the sex scandal….Yes I do. I do not condone nor trivialise It……I do not stand in judgement of anyone, we are all genetically wired with flaws.
It was with his scandal that I got to know how grievous it can be to everything else. In my young mind, it only bothered on trust and betrayal until I saw and read the reaction of Americans to a cheating president. I thought to myself….what a world!
In Nigeria culturally till date it is not  an “issue”. What a tragedy.
Confidence and intelligence has its place. Being self aware and ambitious has its place also.
Motivation from one you love can birth confidence amongst other things; likewise the wrong words from the one you love can erode confidence amongst other things.
A woman who is getting the right dose of praises, support and push from her husband glows and blossoms differently.
I watched Bill speak about his wife and you register the fact that he is still in awe of Hillary……same with Obama to Michelle.
The strength of a woman is the reflection of the strength of her husband. The weakness of a woman is a peep into the soul of the man who husbands’ her.
Only great men help women be Greater.
Though few,  there are so many men holding the ladder of success for their women knowing her success is a mirror of his greatness.

Dear Woman, it is a lie
When you are instructed not to have a voice in a gathering or an opinion on politics, business, economy, foreign policy but should only be heard when it concerns housekeeping, cooking and laundry….. it’s a lie.
When you are acquainted with the fallacy that your well put together and sometimes expensive cloths intimidates the man…it’s a lie.
When you are told that your ambitions are not valid and neither are your goals relevant….it’s a lie.
When you are told to intentionally exhibit weakness in other to make him feel strong….it’s a lie.
When you are told to act unintelligent because your intelligence will put him off…it’s a lie.
When you are told that telling your spouse how to pleasure you sexually exposes you as a whore…..it’s a lie.
When you are told: Do not buy that first car, that house and do not get that degree as men are going to run…it’s a lie.
When you are told that having your own money, owning your own company will make you scary to men..It’s a lie.
When you are made to belive that your divine and sole purpose is to make babies and that all there is to you is your virgina….it’s a lie.
When you are told that ambition is bad and a show of Strength is repulsive to the man….it’s a lie.
When you are told that you should be confined to a small corner, a taped box and should not pursue your dreams because he feels threatened….It’s a lie.
When you are made to belive that your dependence on a man is your sole ticket to relevance….It’s a lie.
When you lose yourself and it is said to be an injustice to humanity……it is true.
The greatest gift of the world is being a woman, the greatest blessing For the world is being a strong woman.

ECONOMY: CBN Not Using Foreign Reserves To Defend Naira — Olayemi Cardoso

Published

on

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, asserts that the nation is not defending the value of the naira with its foreign reserves.

He made this known on Wednesday in Washington, DC, where he is attending the International Monetary Fund-World Bank Spring Meetings.

Cardoso said $600 million came into Nigeria’s reserves account within the last two days.

The naira has appreciated against the dollar in recent weeks, gaining over 40%, from about N1,900/$ to about N1,000/$1 now. But while the naira rebound, Nigeria’s foreign reserves are dwindling, dropping to about $32.29 billion on April 15 — the lowest level in over six years.

Cardoso said, “What you’ve seen with respect to the shift in our reserves is normal in any country’s reserves where for example, debt is due and certain payments need to be made because that is also part of keeping your credibility.

“Other times money comes in, it takes it up again. Between yesterday and today, about $600 million came into the reserves account. We are looking towards a market that operates by itself, willing buyers, willing sellers and price discovery.

“The shift in our reserves has really little or nothing to do with defending naira and that is certainly not our objective.”

Troops Rescue Pregnant Chibok Girl With Children 10 Years After

Lydia Simon, a Chibok girl who had been kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists for several years, has been rescued, according to Nigerian Army troops stationed in the northeast.

Lydia, one of the abducted girls from Chibok Secondary School, was rescued along with her three children by troops conducting Operation Desert Sanity III around Ngoshe in the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State. Lydia’s serial number was 68, according to a statement from the Department of Army Public Relations.

Lydia was five months pregnant at the time of her rescue and claimed to be from Pemi Town in Chibok.

In addition, the statement stated that on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Nigerian Army forces stationed in the North Central region for counterterrorism operations effectively ambushed and eliminated three terrorists who were determined to cause chaos.

Statistics provided by the parents of the abducted schoolgirls show that 271 students were taken on that tragic day in 2014, but 57 of them managed to escape soon after; 103 were freed thanks to federal intervention; 20 more were set free by state efforts; and 92 students remain in captivity.

There have been many mass kidnappings of schoolchildren since the Chibok incident, attracting global outrage. From Chibok to Dapchi, Kankara, Kagara, and many others, terrorists have in the last decade seized thousands of schoolchildren in mass kidnappings. While some of the students eventually regain freedom, others have been perpetually detained in the enclaves of their abductors and sexual abusers.
