The Senate on Thursday gave approval to the nomination of 45 non-career ambassadors, It however, rejected two nominees.
Those rejected were the nominees from Ondo and Imo States.
Jacob Igbekele Daodu from Ondo State was rejected because there is an adverse report on his suitability for appointment as Ambassador, and Justice Sylvanus Nsofor, based on the fact that he is too old, looks frail and tired.
According to the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Nsofor’s response to issues raised were either not answered or devoid of details and most satirical.
However, those confirmed by Senate were Uzoma Emenike (Abia), Aminu Lawal (Adamawa), Godwin Umoh (Akwa Ibom), Christopher Okeke (Anambra), Yusuf Maitama (Bauchi), Baba Maigudu (Bauchi), Stanley Douye (Bayelsa) Stephen Uba (Benue) Baba Ahmed Gida (Borno) Utobong Asuquo (Cross River), Frank Ofegina (Delta) Joda Udoh (Ebonyi), Yagwe Ede (Edo), Eniola Ajayi (Ekiti), Chris Eze (Enugu), Sulieman Hassan (Gombe), Aminu Dalhatu (Jigawa) and Ahmed Bamilli (Kaduna).
Other are Deborah Yahaya (Kaduna), D. Abdulkadir (Kano), Haruna Arungungu (Kano), Musa Udo (Katsina), Mohammed Rimi (Katsina), Tijani Bande (Kebbi), Y.
