The Supreme Court has declared that until further notice, both old and new naira notes will be lawful cash.
The Supreme Court extended the deadline to phase out obsolete naira notes to December 31, 2023 in March 2023.
On November 21, the federal government petitioned the Supreme Court for an extension of time for outdated naira notes to stay in circulation.
