The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has declared a two-day nationwide warning strike against the impact of the elimination of petrol subsidies on the public.
The strike is set to begin on Tuesday, September 5.
Recall, that the labour union had declared a nationwide protest against the removal of fuel subsidies in August.
In a move to placate the Labour Union, President Bola Tinubu had on a day before the declaration of the strike action, made a national broadcast to Nigerians to explain how his administration is tackling the hardship occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal. The broadcast was greeted with criticism from NLC who faulted claims by the Federal government of saving N1trillion from the removal of fuel subsidy.
The Organised Labour Union however suspended its action after meeting meeting with President Bola Tinubu.
