Published

on

Nigerian actor and film producer, John Tyler Ekanem, has told a spiritual story using totally different twists and plots in his new film, Brothers in Arms.

The feature film, which began showing on John Ekanem TV on Saturday, April 5, 2026, has become a source of discourse for fans and viewers alike.

Without losing the essence of storytelling, Ekanem, who wrote the story as well as serving as Executive producer for the film, highlights the importance of prayers in the lives of both successful and struggling individuals.

Directed by Valentine Edochie, Brothers in Arms features Stan Nze, John Ekanem, Tana Adelana, Eso Dike, Blessing Obasi-Nze, and Chinonso Arubayi.

In the words of Tana Adelana, one of the cast of the film, the film is relaxing and enjoyable. “This is content for sit back, relax, and enjoy literally,” she said.

Brothers in Arms tells the story of three ambitious partners—Chuka, Bola, and Jimoh—who rise from humble beginnings to build a thriving company rooted in trust and shared vision. As their success grows, so do the pressures of leadership, relationships, and personal desires. When one partner begins to drift, struggling to balance business, loyalty, and personal life, cracks form within the brotherhood. They had to introspect and return to the core of their foundation – prayers – to surmount the troubles and problems threatening to tear down their core and all they have built.

“I am excited about the release of this film. It’s currently airing on John Ekanem TV, and I can assure you it’s a story that will literally leave you on the edge of your seat. For every season, Brothers in Arms is the right film for you, your brothers, sisters, friends, and associates because it gives insight into relatable events of our daily lives,” said Ekanem.

Oluwamayowa Lawrence produces the film for John Ekanem and YET studios.

Lizzy Anjorin Accepts Paulo’s ₦10m Boxing Challenge To Fight Iyabo Ojo, Gives Condition

Published

on

Nollywood actress, Lizzy Anjorin, has accepted a long-standing boxing challenge involving fellow actress Iyabo Ojo and her lover, show promoter Paulo Okoye, reigniting their protracted feud.

In a post shared on Instagram on Sunday, Anjorin said she was ready to step into the ring, years after Paulo initially proposed a celebrity boxing match between her and Ojo.

“As at today, 3rd May 2026, I accept your challenge,” she wrote.

She, however, introduced fresh conditions, proposing that Paulo should first fight her husband before she faces Ojo.

“You (Paulo) and Chief Lawal will fight 10 rounds non-stop in the ring. Then the next day, it will be Iyabo Ojo and me in the ring,” she stated.

The actress further escalated the rivalry with a series of personal remarks directed at both Paulo and Ojo, challenging them to publicly present proof of their assets and achievements.

The development marks the latest twist in a long-running public dispute between Anjorin and Ojo, which has played out across social media, courts, and public statements over the years.

The feud, believed to have originated from professional and personal disagreements, has since spiralled into legal battles and repeated exchanges of accusations. In 2024, Paulo had floated the idea of a celebrity boxing match between both actresses, with a proposed ₦10 million prize for the winner.

Tensions between the two actresses intensified in 2025 after Ojo filed a ₦1 billion defamation suit against Anjorin, although the case was later struck out on procedural grounds, with Ojo indicating plans to pursue further legal action.

The dispute has also been marked by allegations, counter-allegations, and police petitions, with both parties repeatedly trading barbs online.

Anjorin’s acceptance of the boxing challenge comes amid a growing trend of celebrity boxing matches in Nigeria’s entertainment scene. Recently, street-pop artiste Portable lost a high-profile bout to comedian Carter Efe at a celebrity fight event in Lagos, further fuelling interest in such contests.
