Kano state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje today (Wednesday) inaugurated a 52 – member Committee, headed by the state Deputy Governor, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, for the celebration of the state Golden jubilee.
Performing the function, Governor Ganduje explained that the selection of fifty eminent indigenes of Kano on this committee was by no means a coincidence but deliberately designed to coincide with fifty memorable years.
He added “the membership was painstakingly done so that not only some of the founding fathers of the state were included but also some that have in one way or the other contributed to the development of not only Kano State but the Nation in general”.
The governor charged the committee to start work early such that the occasion is accorded a befitting arrangement and organization.
The chairman of the Committee, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, promised to justify the mandate.
Meanwhile, Governor Ganduje presided over the swearing in of two Permanent Secretaries in the state Civil Service. They are Alhaji Abba Yakubu for the state Pilgrims Welfare Board and Alhaji Idris Abdullahi, for Administration and General Services in the office of the Secretary to the State Government.
Governor Ganduje said the new public officers were appointed on merit, charging them to work assiduously towards attaining the vision and mission of the administration.
