In order to discuss the claimed “unjust deportation order” given to some Nigerian students at Teesside University in the midst of their studies, a delegation from the Federal Government will meet with representatives of the university in the United Kingdom.
This was declared in a statement released on Wednesday by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).
Following orders from the university administration to leave the UK on May 22, a group of Nigerian students held a protest because they claimed some had not paid their tuition.
NIDCOM boss subsequently met with some of the affected students virtually last Sunday and it was agreed that a Representative of the Nigerian High Commission in the UK, Amb Christian Okeke, will lead a delegation to meet with the university’s management to seek an amicable resolution to the issue.
The NIDCOM boss appealed to the students to remain calm and not take laws into their own hands while appealing to the university to treat them with fairness.
