An upcoming Yoruba movie actor, Paul Busuyi Babalola, has been accused of stealing a whooping sum of six hundred thousand naira cash (#600,000:00) from his friend’s room in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Paul who lives in Abeokuta, had visited his friend (Ismail Owoyemi) at Offa garage area of Ilorin to seek for financial support so he could pay his rent but ended up bolting away with #600,000:00.

Speaking exclusively to PorscheClassy, Ismail said ” Paul has been my friend for some years now, we met during youth service in Akure and that was far back in 2012. He actually came to Ilorin on Monday (yesterday) around 12noon to seek my financial assistance so he can pay his rent in Abeokuta.

“I had promised to help with #20,000 which i had already packaged and was just waiting to hand over to him when he’s about leaving. Unfortunately for me, my girlfriend had just sold her car that morning and the cash was with us in the house, though i had already told her to go deposit the money in her account immediately since she’ll be getting a new car in few days but she wanted to relax a little before heading out due to the harsh weather and Paul had already arrived at my apartment then.

“I stepped out of the room to go get Paul a drink leaving him with my girlfriend and the cash in the room but before i got back, the room was empty. I quickly called my girlfriend to confirm her whereabout and she explained to me that she got a call to come receive her package at the bus park which am aware of; she was actually expecting a package from Lagos and she innocently left Paul alone in the room with the cash in a polythene bag; she did that because she felt Paul is my friend and not a new one at that.

Speaking further, Ismail said all efforts to reach Paul has proved abortive as his phones have been switched off.

Ismail’s neigbhours confirmed that they saw Paul running towards the road direction on Monday with a small bag held to his chest tightly.

The case has been reported at the Nigerian Police Force Area ‘F’ Command (A Division) in Ilorin, Kwara State.
