Cameroon and Barcelona legend Samuel Eto’o has joined Turkish topflight outfit Konyaspor from Antalayspor. The 36-year-old called it quit with the New Antalya Stadium outfit after three seasons, where he scored 44 goals in 76 games.
“We thank him for his contributions to the club so far and we wish him success in the next sporting event,” a statement from Antalayspor read. Eto’o would be hoping to use his wealth of experience to help his new club swim out of the relegation waters.
They are currently placed 17th on the Super Lig log with 16 points from 19 games. The club said the former Barcelona star will be unveiled on Wednesday at the Metropolitan Municipal Stadium press conference Hall.
