Veteran Nollywood Actress, Racheal Oniga is dead.

The talented screen diva who still shot some scenes in a movie set in Mowe, Ogun State earlier this week passed on late Friday night.

She was a grandmother who was divorced from her husband 19 years ago.

The cause of Oniga’s death is still unknown at the time of this report.

May her soul rest in peace

A seasoned journalist and publisher of Metronews magazine, Otunba Femi Davies, has promised that the highly frenzied 10th anniversary of the news platform, which is billed for October 10, 2022 at the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja GRA in Lagos, will be an evening that would echo for a long time in the Nigerian media and entertainment industries.

In a statement signed and made available to the media by the media juggernaut, a committee of industry brilliant minds has been working tirelessly in ensuring that the three-in-one event is befitting of the reputation of the Metronews brand.

While mentioning events lined up for the evening, the organisers hinted that a new movie by the publisher would be premiered. In addition, a special edition of Metronews print copy, planned to be a frequent publication of societies’ movers and shakers, would be unveiled.

“Aside from all these, not less than 35 Metronews Special Recognition Awards for the Decade would be given out that night to celebrate brands and accomplished individuals across different sectors for their excellence and consistency,” Otunba Davies stated.

DJ Jimmy Jatt Narrates Experience After Successful Kidney Transplant [VIDEO]

It was a celebration galore after Eedris Abdulkareem a few weeks ago, another music veteran underwent a kidney transplant.

“The Lakreem Entertainment Inc. boss has recently been diagnosed with kidney failure and has been undergoing dialysis since the detection at a reputable hospital here in Lagos, Nigeria,” part of the statement released by his management read.

According to the music star’s team, his wife was the donor.

Again, Nigerian veteran disc jockey, Oluwaforijimi Adewale Amu popularly known as Jimmy Jatt, has disclosed that he has had a successful kidney transplant.

The popular disc jockey made this known via his Instagram page on Friday, September 16, 2022, while showcasing a video of his journey through the surgery. The disc jockeys surgery was done at a Nigerian hospital.

According to the doctor who narrated the video, the disc jockey was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure and needed a transplant.

He was, however, convinced to carry out the surgery in Nigeria after he initially opted for an operation in the United States of America.

DJ Jimmy Jatt revealed that he was happy that the surgery was a success and a chance at life for a second time.

“For me I’m excited. I’m happy I have a second chance at life. That is the most important thing to me. What will happen after, I think God will guide us,” he said.

The veteran said he is ready to go on any social media platform to spread the gospel about kidney diseases and their treatments.

I want to be the face of the survival of kidney disease. I have been through it,” he said.

Gbege is a story of a troubled man, whose father died while he’s serving a life imprisonment. All he wants is a chance of release to perform his father’s burial rite, but the law is no respecter of tradition.

According to the award winning producer and master storyteller, the twists in the storyline are so captivating, moviegoers are assured a worthy time at the cinemas.

Gbege parades some top Nigerian thespians like Jide Kosoko, Ebele Okaro, Sam Dede, Mercy Aigbe and Ini Edo.

In 2008 a Canadian documentary Nollywood Babylon co-directed by Ben Addelman and Samir Mallal, and produced by AM Pictures and the National Film Board of Canada in association with the Documentary Channel, followed Imasuen while he was shooting his 157th film Bent Arrows.
