President Bola Tinubu is currently convening a meeting with governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting, which commenced at 1:01 pm, is taking place under the auspices of the Progressives Governors Forum.

The agenda of the meeting is not publicly known, but it may be related to the planned nationwide protests against economic hardship, scheduled to take place from August 1-10.

The protests, organized under the hashtag ‘EndBadGovernance,’ have gained significant momentum on social media, despite the organizers remaining anonymous. No group has officially claimed responsibility for the protests.

This meeting follows a previous gathering of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum on Wednesday night and comes after the last-minute cancellation of the National Economic Council meeting, which was scheduled for Thursday noon.

Notable attendees at the meeting include National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Finance Wale Edun, and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Abubakar Bagudu.

The meeting is likely aimed at addressing the growing concerns about economic hardship and the planned protests.
