Lizzy Anjorin Accepts Paulo’s ₦10m Boxing Challenge To Fight Iyabo Ojo, Gives Condition

Published

on

Nollywood actress, Lizzy Anjorin, has accepted a long-standing boxing challenge involving fellow actress Iyabo Ojo and her lover, show promoter Paulo Okoye, reigniting their protracted feud.

In a post shared on Instagram on Sunday, Anjorin said she was ready to step into the ring, years after Paulo initially proposed a celebrity boxing match between her and Ojo.

“As at today, 3rd May 2026, I accept your challenge,” she wrote.

She, however, introduced fresh conditions, proposing that Paulo should first fight her husband before she faces Ojo.

“You (Paulo) and Chief Lawal will fight 10 rounds non-stop in the ring. Then the next day, it will be Iyabo Ojo and me in the ring,” she stated.

The actress further escalated the rivalry with a series of personal remarks directed at both Paulo and Ojo, challenging them to publicly present proof of their assets and achievements.

The development marks the latest twist in a long-running public dispute between Anjorin and Ojo, which has played out across social media, courts, and public statements over the years.

The feud, believed to have originated from professional and personal disagreements, has since spiralled into legal battles and repeated exchanges of accusations. In 2024, Paulo had floated the idea of a celebrity boxing match between both actresses, with a proposed ₦10 million prize for the winner.

Tensions between the two actresses intensified in 2025 after Ojo filed a ₦1 billion defamation suit against Anjorin, although the case was later struck out on procedural grounds, with Ojo indicating plans to pursue further legal action.

The dispute has also been marked by allegations, counter-allegations, and police petitions, with both parties repeatedly trading barbs online.

Anjorin’s acceptance of the boxing challenge comes amid a growing trend of celebrity boxing matches in Nigeria’s entertainment scene. Recently, street-pop artiste Portable lost a high-profile bout to comedian Carter Efe at a celebrity fight event in Lagos, further fuelling interest in such contests.
