The first lady, Aisha Buhari, has seemingly thrown her weight behind speculations by Senator Isah Misau (APC-Bauchi Central) that the nation is run by a cabal, and not the president. Though she made no direct statement to that effect, she, however, on her verified Twitter and Instagram pages, posted videos of Senators Misau and Ben Murray-Bruce making references to a cabal.
In the clips from an online tv, which she posted on Friday, the lawmakers openly accused President Buhari of appointing incompetent people because they “belong to the cabal”.One of the clips shows Senator Misau on the floor of the Senate, criticising the president for appointing “an incompetent person” as the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
He accused the president of “doing nothing” since he was elected, adding “the president has not taken anything to change this country.”In the second video, Senator Bruce is shown supporting Misau’s stance. We either have a government or we don’t he said. Aisha Buhari had made the same insinuation in October of last year. he lamented that most of the appointments made are people unknown to the President and the first family.
She said appointments were made by a cabal who are behind presidential appointments”In the interview conducted by BBC Hausa, she said “some people are sitting down at their homes folding their arms only for them to be called to come and head an agency or ministerial position”
