Contrary to the depression and suicidal attempt post that Moyo Lawal shared some days ago, the actress has finally debunked any claims of such.

Although, the actress admitted to being in a dark place which some of her faithful fans tried to reach out to her, thinking she was about to take her own life, she said, she was overwhelmed by the number of calls she got following her post and has assured fans and friends that she had so much to live for and taking her life was the last thing on her mind.

The actress took to her gram to share another post about the things she still expects God to do for her and this includes sending her own ‘Kanye’ she wrote.

”Wait…hold up lovers…I think we are ..eeem blowing things out of proportion!!! God has been really good to me and my support system is different shades of amazing, my family, friends turned family, friends who have remained as friends, fans turned friends are everything. Its just that well, I got really numb for a bit and was in a very dark place that I didn’t understand.

I mean, it still shocks me that God Almighty has blessed me so much that I can actually live my life accordingly to my own rules. Like small short bowlegged, one kind looking me although( Baba God🙌 please answer my call oooh)” I am still awaiting that “Hollywood magic and money”💎💎 and my “Kanye”. But otherwise, I can’t complain.

P.s, thank you all so much for the love, because honestly the amount of people that have reached out me despite having their own problems is whew, too sweet. May the Almighty meet each and everyone of you in your hour of need.

P.s..p.s …So many people have reached out to me, talking about their own experiences and I will really love that to continue, so pls feel free to reach out to me, I will love to listen and hopefully make things better. I didn’t and will never attempt to kill myself, ya all watch too many movies. 💜ML.”

The actress has made it clear that while she appreciates all the love and messages and calls, there was never a time she attempted to kill herself.

Speaking at the 2024 Felaberation Festival in Lagos, Femi specifically mentioned former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the late businessman MKO Abiola as significant enemies of the Kuti family.

He acknowledged his father and grandmother as prominent Pan-Africanists, further emphasizing that his family was raised without tribalistic tendencies, drawing inspiration from Pan-Africanism.

Addressing the crowd, Femi stated, “Brothers and sisters, something very important is going on in our lives; ethnic problems. You call it tribalism. Please, do not bring the Anikulapos in your stupidity.”

He continued by saying, “We grew up with Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Marcus Garvey, Patrice Lumumba, Mrs Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, and Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

“Pan-Africanism was the order of the day. So, I didn’t grow up being sentimental. I saw good people, bad people. I’ve got great European friends, I’ve got terrible European friends. I’ve got great African friends, I’ve got terrible African friends.

“One of our [the Kuti family’s] greatest enemies as you know are Yoruba people; Obasanjo or Abiola. We are not tribalistic in our family.”

The announcement was made by Seun Oloketuyi, founder, BON Awards, earlier in the week.

With the announcement the duo are set to join other Nollywood greats in the league of Lifetime Achievement Award winners. On this list are people like Adebayo Salami, Toyin Adegbola, Madam Kofo, and others.

While speaking about the duo, Oloketuyi explained that there was a need to start celebrating film heroes in their lifetime, when they can enjoy the accolades.

Also weighing in, Feranmi Olaoye, the Executive Producer BON Awards revealed that the choice of Kanayo and Madam Saje were not made lightly.

“These two are people we grew up watching. They inspired the generation we watch now, and they still maintained their stand in the industry. They deserve to be celebrated, and that’s why we have chosen them as this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award winners.

The 2024 edition of the BON Awards is billed to hold at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, the state’s latest hub for filmmakers.

Oloketuyi had earlier expressed excitement about Kwara’s role as host, promising a fulfilling experience for the expected 500 Nollywood stars attending.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had also highlighted the studio’s potential to elevate Nigerian cinematography and promote local talent. The event underscores Kwara’s commitment to becoming a leading destination in the creative industry, fostering growth and investment in the sector.
