‘Style By Zenith’ Debuts In Lagos [PHOTOS]

Zenith Bank Plc is set to light up the social and entertainment scene this December with the launch of “Style by Zenith”.

“Style by Zenith”, a flagship Lifestyle, Beauty, Fashion, Accessories and Entertainment fair, powered by Zenith bank in conjunction with Fashion One, a foremost international lifestyle and entertainment company, would hold in Lagos on Saturday, December 29 and Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the Open Ground by Four Points Hotel, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The two-day fair is a potpourri ofLifestyle activities featuring runway modelling by leading Nigerian and international models accessorized by top designers, beauticians, beauty and lifestyle products manufacturers, accessory makers, food and confectionary, entertainment for adults and children as well as performances by top Nigerian artistes, amongst other activities.

Speaking on the launch of the platform, the General Manager of Zenith Bank Plc. and Coordinator of the event, Mrs. Adobi Nwapa, noted that: “‘Style by Zenith’ is a unique platform through which the bank will connect with and create value for its customers by focusing on various aspects of their lifestyle. It is an all-inclusive fair that seeks to engage and entertain both the young and old during this festive period ’”.

Nigerian Journalist, Rita Okoye Wins ‘Entertainment Writer Of The Year ‘Award

Gifted journalist, Rita Okoye of The Sun Newspaper Nigeria emerged Entertainment Writer of the Year at the just concluded 13th edition of Nigeria Media Nite-Out Awards (NMNA).

The enterprising writer clinched the award alongside Ayo Alonge, and Funsho Arogundade of the aforementioned Newspaper who won the ‘Business writer and Society writer of the year’ awards respectively.

The event which was held at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, on Sunday, and themed: “The Nigerian Economy and Political Development: Finding the Missing Piece,” had the keynote address delivered by a former presidential aspirant, John Onche Shaibu, with Zamfara State governor, Bello Matawalle, who was special guest of honour, recognized as the Most Security-Conscious Governor of the Year.

Rita Okoye popular for her weekly entertainment page, Inside Nollywood, is a seasoned entertainment and lifestyle writer who is has become one of the nation’s most sought after entertainment correspondents. Okoye’s knack for unique story angles makes her page a must-read.

Organisers, at the event, said all awardees deserved their respective laurels, as adjudged by the jury, having played their parts in the development of their careers and the profession of journalism in general.

One of the high points of the event was the posthumous recognition of Late Precious Owolabi, the corps member with Channels Television who was killed in Abuja, during the clash between the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, popularly known as Shiites, and the police.

Late Owolabi was honoured with the award of the Reporter of the Year. A property development agency, Revolution Plus, also gifted a plot of land in Lagos to his parents who could not hold their tears, while receiving both the plague and gift.

Xenophobia: Tiwa Savage Cancels Performance In South Africa At DSTV Festival

Popular Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has canceled her performance at the upcoming DSTV festival in South Africa.

Tiwa Savage announced this on Tuesday following xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

The mother of one lamenting about killings of Nigerians said her decision was in solidarity with victims of attacks in South Africa.

On her verified Twitter page, she wrote: “I refuse to watch the barbaric butchering of my people in SA. This is SICK.

“For this reason, I will NOT be performing at the upcoming DSTV delicious Festival in Johannesburg on the 21st of September. My prayers are with all the victims and families affected by this.”

Calling for an end to the killings, Tiwa added that the solution to fighting crime is not by killing one another.

“Killing anyone that is African is bad my people, whether they are Nigerians or not.

“I’m not in support of drug dealing nor am I in support of killing. The solution to fighting drug crime is not killing my dear brother,” she added.
