10 Dead, Three Injured In Lagos-Badagry Expressway Accident

Ten people were killed on Tuesday night when a Toyota Sienna bus crashed into a stationary truck at Abule Osun, inward Iyana Iba, along the Lagos-Badagry expressway.

According to Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the incident happened at 11:07 p.m., and the “Dolphin Response Team” was dispatched from the Igando Base.

The Toyota Sienna, fully loaded with passengers from the Eastern region of Nigeria, collided with a “parked SHACMAN truck” that was carrying granite and blocking part of the road.

The collision led to the death of “three male adults, four female adults, two female children, and one male child.”

Three others were critically injured, including a female adult and two children, who were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The vehicle was “recovered with the aid of the agency’s lite tow truck” and towed to the FRSC station.

The injured survivors received “immediate medical attention from LASAMBUS” and were later transferred to LASUTH for further care.
