The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) says it is dropping the tax charges against Tigran Gambaryan, Binance’s head of financial crime compliance.

Dare Adekanmbi, the agency’s spokesperson, confirmed the development on Friday.

Rotary District 9112 To Host Public Image Seminar In Lagos

Rotary International District 9112 is gearing up to host a significant public image seminar on July 2, 2024, in Lagos.

This event, organised by the district’s Public Image Committee, is themed “The Magic of Public Image in Rotary.”

According to a release signed by the secretary, District 9112 Public Image Committee, Rotarian Victor Ojelabi, the seminar will feature esteemed speakers in the media and marketing communications industry.

The chief host of the seminar is Rotarian Femi Adenekan, the pioneer District Governor of Rotary International District 9112, who would assume office on July 1, 2024 for 2024-2025 Rotary year.

Among the distinguished speakers are Dr. Reuben Abati, syndicated columnist, TV host, and former presidential spokesman; Past Assistant Governor John Senaya, public speaking coach and PR expert; Past President Sola Akinsiku, president of Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) and Rotarian Jide Ogunleye, a digital marketing specialist.

Dr. Abati will analyse the “Role of the Media in the Task of Nation-Building,” providing insights on how media can influence and shape national development.

PAG Senaya will explore the “Rotary Brand Center,” emphasizing the importance of a strong brand identity for Rotary’s mission and activities.

PP Akinsiku will discuss “Expanding Rotary’s Reach and Impact through Out-of-Home Advertising,” highlighting strategies to increase Rotary’s visibility and engagement through innovative advertising methods.

Rtn. Ogunleye, the incoming president of the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden, will focus on “Deploying Social Media Channels to Enhance the Rotary Brand,” providing practical tips on leveraging social media for brand enhancement.

“This seminar promises to be a pivotal event for Rotary members and stakeholders, aiming to enhance public awareness and appreciation of Rotary’s contributions to society,” said Assistant Governor Ehi Braimah, chairman of the District Public Image Committee.

The seminar is scheduled to kick off at 10:30 AM and will be held at the Keystone Bank Hall, The Rotary Centre, located at No. 8, Ladoke Akintola Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

JUST IN: Fire Guts ETP Section Of Dangote Refinery

A fire broke out this afternoon at the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) section of the Dangote Refinery in Lagos. Emergency services responded swiftly to contain the incident, and according to initial reports, no injuries have been sustained.

Anthony Chiejina, the group branding and communication officer confirmed the incident in a press statement seen by PorscheClassy media.

The Dangote Refinery is a massive project under construction with a projected refining capacity of 650,000 barrels per day.

Olota Of Otta Advocates Cultural Preservation During European Tour, Visits Nigerian Embassy In Rome, Italy [PHOTOS]

In continuation of the ongoing Europe Tour, His Majesty, Olota of the Paramount and Ancient Ottaland, Awori Kingdom, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege Ph.D, MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode) was warmly received at the Nigerian Embassy in Rome by a dedicated team led by Her Excellency, Amb. Gwendy OMIJEH, the Charge d’Affairs, along with key officials including M.M. LAWAL, H. KWACHE-ADAMS, G. W. GABKWET, A.O. AHANONU, M.N. TONY-BISONG, and N.J. RIBI.

Welcoming His Majesty, Mrs Gwendy OMIJEH commended Kabiyesi Olota for the diplomatic visit, and for the efforts in promoting culture and traditions. She described the tour “thoughtful”, as it will further integrate subjects living in Rome with their homeland.

During the diplomatic visit to Rome, Italy, His Majesty highlighted the importance of preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Awori people. Kabiyesi emphasized the significance of remembering one’s roots and encouraged his subjects to maintain strong ties with their homeland. He urged them to embrace their cultural identity, visit their ancestral land frequently, and actively promote and preserve the rich Awori Cultural Heritage.

Kabiyesi’s message resonates deeply in an era marked by rapid globalization and cultural homogenization. As traditional values and customs face the pressures of modernization, the Olota’s call for cultural preservation serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of heritage and identity.
