Campaign Organisation of Kolapo Olusola, the PDP candidate for the 2018 governorship election in Ekiti state, has taken a swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari for insinuating Ekiti has lost its values. The body was reacting to Buhari’s call on the South West caucus of the APC to carry out every legitimate step to win back Ekiti.

“I know Ekiti fairly well and Ekiti people are well known for their forthrightness, candour and integrity,” the President said on Wednesday. “All of these values seem to have been lost and we must restore these values and return Ekiti to its pride of place in the comity of states.

“As we approach the 2019 elections, the return of Ekiti into the fold of progressive states is important as the election of July 14 is going to be a key pointer to subsequent elections.” But the campaign organisation described Buhari’s statement as “wishful thinking.”

“Ekiti people will never allow their State to be added to the comity of States already infected with the plague of mis-governance by the President and his party,” it said. “President Muhammadu Buhari should perish the thought of his anointed candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi, wining the July 14 election and face the reality of his failed Presidency with a view to making amends before he is sent back to Daura next year.”

The campaign’s Director of Media and Publicity, Lere Olayinka, also said, “Even in Isan Ekiti, Fayemi’s hometown, nothing has happened to the Clay Kaolin that is there in large quantity despite that their son is in charge of solid minerals.”

“Funny that the President said Ekiti must return to the fold of progressive states. Is he talking about the same so-called progressives States that are sacking workers in their thousands? Or the APC States where herdsmen are killing people in gruesome manner on daily basis is what he wants Ekiti State to join?

“Truly, Ekiti people are well known for their forthrightness, candour and integrity. They will never subject themselves to the whim and caprices of a President who looked the other way when thousands of people were being killed by herdsmen in Benue, Taraba, Plateau and other states.”

APC Reacts To Atiku’s Visit To US, Says ”A Thief Remains A Thief Anywhere”

The US chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the recent visit of former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar to Washington DC.

Atiku, who is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), visited the US after 13 years, and for the first time since he left office as Nigeria’s vice-president.

But the party in a statement issued by Adeshegun Labinjo, chairman, US chapter of APC said the visit does not absolve Atiku of the purported corruption allegations against him and he should still be held accountable.

The statement read: “the questionable character of the individual does not evaporate because he has stepped on the soil of America

“A thief remains a thief no matter where he or she visits. Obviously, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku has every reason to have kept off the USA given the cloak of corruption he is wearing,” the statement read.

“After a long spell of noticeable absence and factual concerns about Alhaji Abubakur Atiku’s antecedents in the USA arising from his dealings with former Congressman William Jefferson of Louisiana, who was convicted and served a jail term on account of bribery resulting from a telecommunication transaction in Nigeria, Atiku is now here again in the US.

“Congressional records point to the fact that Atiku engaged in money laundering through his wife who was then resident in the USA.

“We see Atiku, who is the 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of Nigeria, as a self-centered corrupt Vice President under President Obasanjo’s regime.

“Certainly, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku‘s entry and presence in the USA is a mockery of President Bush Presidential Proclamation 7750 which affirms the denial of US visa to foreign officials involved with corruption and other supporting legislations by the congress. APC-USA believes that Alhaji Abubakar Atiku should be held accountable for his involvement in money laundering.”

Amaechi Behind Plot To Destroy CJN, This Evil Will Consume Him —– Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has said that the Minister of Transportation was behind the plot to destroy the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onoghen.

Addressing thousands of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, supporters during the PDP State Campaign Rally at Eleme, yesterday, Governor Wike said that the Minister of Transportation made the confession at a meeting with an All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain in Abuja.

He said: “At that meeting in Abuja last Monday, he confessed that he was the person behind the illegal crisis facing the CJN.

He bragged that he will destroy the CJN the way he brought former President Goodluck Jonathan down.

“He wants to destroy the nation’s judiciary. This particular evil will finally consume Amaechi.”

The governor wondered why Amaechi would say that PDP was a party of thieves when he was Speaker for eight years under the PDP and eight years as governor under the PDP.

Reacting to Wike’s accusation, an APC Chieftain, Prince Tonye Princewill, said “People have learnt to disregard what Wike says and this gibberish is no exception.
“Many of us can remember when he called a press conference over missing money in Ikeja, Lagos and his ultimatum to the Federal Government. The man is not worthy of a considered response. Good luck to anyone who takes him seriously.”
