The Minister Sports, Solomon Dalung, has responded to the Chairman of the Plateau state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, Latep Dabang, who allegedly described him as a lunatic.
Dabang had, in a recent interview, accused Dalung of working against the party in the state, following the latter’s criticism of the Simon Lalong-led administration in Plateau.
Responding in a statement on Monday, Dalung praised Latep for speaking his mind even though he is uninformed about the facts. He said: “Let me appreciate the chairman of my party, Latep Dabang, for referring to me as a mad man. Of course he is free to his opinions but certainly not correct too.
“I am of a sound mind because mad people do not possess capacities to raise weighty issues.”
While alleging that the APC chairman was frustrated, Dalung said: “I can understand the problems confronting my friend and brother, Latep Dabang. His mentor has left the party, so things are falling apart, the centre can no longer hold.”
