Africa Fashion Week Nigeria in partnership with Lagos Stage Government is pleased to announce for the first time ever in the history of Fashion Week in Nigeria, pre-events for the AFWN called “The Iconic Catwalk Shows” The exclusive events will take place at the National Theatre on the 1st of April, 2017 and Tinubu Square on the 2nd of April 2017.
The Iconic Catwalk pre-events for the AFWN fashion week will spotlight talented designers expressing how traditional culture brings modern spirit to fashion against the splendor of these heritage sites. The media focused events are a unique opportunity to gain insights, appreciate the beauty, versatility of the Nigerian fabrics and fashion. The events are also an opportunity for us to show the world a glimpse of our rich heritage and culture. Clothing and accessories are inseparable from culture and what better way to express this than through these iconic location events.

Giving the background into the idea of the Scissors Reality Show, The CEO of Digital Interactive Media, DIM, Mr. Sola Fajobi said, “Back in the days, the fashion industry was seen to be dominated by the uneducated. People who had failed in school were pushed by parents or guardians to learn a skill from tailoring to hairdressing, welding, and even auto-mechanics”.
“In the immediate recent past, fashion designing has moved away from such perception. According to Sola Fajobi, the producer of the show, Scissors is a platform on the quest for the new digital fashion entrepreneurs.it is design to seek, discover and promote hidden talents in the fashion industry.

We are Showcasing the Most Youthful, Stylish and Fashionable Designers in Nigeria to the World. Labake Adeola, the industrious fashion entrepreneur has carved a niche for herself among fashion buffs. According to her, being rich shouldn’t be confused with possessing panache but many a deep-pocket mistake extravagance for elegance.

Labake’s love for fashion and taste for quality was copied from her mum, whom they both started Signal Fabrics from Alade Market in Ikeja Lagos, but the mother did not live long to see it blossom.
Signal Fabrics officially opens its new branch to clients from all over, penultimate Sunday, located on Ajose Adeogun street, Victoria Island Lagos, with its head office at Martins Street, Lagos Island.
The event had in attendance her family, friends, long time customers, society women, and well-wishers who came out to celebrate with the mother of three wonderful boys.
